I received this email on June 3, 2014 from Mark Montuya mentioning about the postponement of WWF World Championship, as follows:

Thanks for your interest in receiving information about the Words With Friends World Championship. After much consideration, we have decided to postpone the Words With Friends World Championship this year so we can focus on upcoming new playing experiences within the game.  We are still exploring holding a Words With Friends Tournament, possibly next year.  So, please keep an eye out so you can sign up again.
