English Lexicons Used(As of blogging time)
-TWL06

Turn Time Limit:
-For games with random players, if either player does not play within 4 days, they will be resigned.
-For games where players invited each other directly, if either player does not play within 7 days, they will be resigned.
-If either player fails to make an initial move on the game within 24 hours of accepting the game, the game will be cancelled and no one will be charged with the resignation.

Ending the Game:
-When all of the tiles have been taken from the bag and one player has used all of the tiles on his or her rack, the game ends. At this point, the player who has tiles on the rack gets the total number of points on these tiles subtracted from his or her total score. The value is then added to the player who played the last tile. After this, the highest score determines the winner of the game.
-When one player resigns.

Special Rules:
-Exchanging is permitted even if there are fewer than seven tiles left in the bag.
-Unlimited tries for a move in case there are phoney words being played.
-Additional 40 points is added to score of playing seven tiles other called as bingo or bonus play.

-POW Tiles (Special action tile or blank): Fightin’ Words has a unique spin in comparison to other games like it. That spin is the POW tile. The POW tile can be used as any letter, BUT, the kicker is that is can be used to REPLACE any tile on the board.

If you use the POW tile to replace another letter, all connected tiles must still make valid words. Another added benefit is that you receive the point modifier on that tile as well. Since the POW tile is worth 0 points, Double Letter and Triple Letter boxes are don’t help (0×3 = 0). However, Double Word and Triple Word boxes can definitely help your game.

I find the POW tile very useful for playing into another word that doesn’t have a letter I need. I can then change the letter in the existing word (you get points for the new word created) and play into it from the other direction.

In order to replace a letter, you’ll have to use the track ball to move the cursor back onto the letter you want to replace. For example, you want to play MATE and you are going to change an R to a T to play it. When you start typing, the cursor will skip over the T after you hit the A. You’ll have to use your trackball to move the cursor back onto the T and then press the letter you want to change it to.

If you don’t want to replace a letter, simply type as you normally would, and Fightin’ Words will detect that you hit a letter that you don’t have in your tile rack and play the POW tile for you.

tiger2002's Latest Losses and Some Opponent's Comments

This week, let's take a look at tiger2002's losses for a change. In the past few weeks, there were two players who managed an incredible four straight match wins against tiger2002, namely: msjonesy and QB1 while 007jem managed three straight wins. Tontoblink, BillBZ, wwarner, tmoney36 and others to name a few came close at two straight wins each.

These are the screenshots of my Finished Tournaments as of July 5, summarized as follows:

Let me begin my story from the bottom concentrating on the tournaments where I lost. I also included screenshots of the tournament bracket results to view the current update as of July 5. I am not deleting any of these tournaments to view the progress and checking out who wins every bracket pairing until it reached the Finals.

1. Tourney# 587- 32P (losses to 007jem in round 1, 391-515); tmoney36 waiting in the Finals

007jem started with bESEEKE, then UNSHAPE and another one, LITERARY. Behind by so much points, I opened up with AbSOLVER. His RETINAS after my scoring move of EWKING seals the victory for 007jem. I had RHODINAL before the endgame, but to no avail.
(Final Board Position vs. 007jem)

2. Tourney# 618 32P (losses to 007jem in Round 3, 433-440); rvennel has won this tournament.

This match is much more interesting than our earlier game above. It was a closed fought endgame! 007jem holding AADHINT played the best move, DAH/(TETH) keeping AINT for a two separate spot out play of either DAINT or ENTIA. tiger2002 had ?ONLRR couldn't see any out play, and so I blocked the DAINT spot with ORLoN/(ODAH). But, 007jem finished it off with LATIN! I think, this is a new word added by Wordsmith to YAWL lexicon. Until now, Wordsmith is not providing the list of newly added words to YAWL. Maybe, it's up for the players to discover. LOL!
(Final Board Position vs. 007jem)

3. Tourney# 623 8P (losses to QB1 in round 1); Finals being contested by 007jem and QB1
(8 Players Bracket Results, screenshot from my Android device)
QB1: "you haven't been on your game lately tiger, what's up!"

This was the fourth of the last four matches wherein I lost to QB1. As in our previous matches, QB1 started with a bingo (EMETINS), then built up a commanding lead in the middlegame. Suddenly, tiger2002 had a bingo banga bongo, ANTISMUT, STARTISH and SOLEREt played in succession, but QB1 held on to the lead till the end.
(Final Board Position vs QB1)

4. Tourney# 624 32P (losses to msjonesy in Round 4, 448-451); msjonesy waiting in the Finals

tiger2002: "tiger is becoming your whipping guy in our last 4 games."
msjonesy: ";-) well you know what his means... fist pumps and happy dances all around."

Another endgame thriller! I held AAHIRTT and msjonesy had JIRL. I need a two-move out play for this endgame. There was a scoring option available like QAT but this would left tiger2002 with AIHRT which have no place to play afterwards. I tried to analyze for other options but no chance for a win unless she would falter, so I took a practical approach by playing KIT to set up ARHAT, hoping for msjonesy to play DILL which would block my QAT. That should be a blunder for her if she did, instead she played the safety JIN/(PI). Then, I played ARHAT, four-timer for 32 points but not enough points to catch up her score.
(Final Board Position vs. msjonesy)

5. Tourney# 625 16P (losses to jayaringo in Round 1); QB1 waiting in the Finals
(16 Players Bracket Results, screenshot from BlueStacks App Player for Windows)
jayaringo: "I know u might just surprise me but I hope I win........ for once tiger lol."

jayaringo on a scoring rampage played three consecutive bingos, tORMENT, CULMENS and COLLATES. tiger2002 was able to keep on pace by his own HORNIST and QAIDS (back-hooking A from tORMENT). The turning point of the game was after tiger2002 played WAX, jayaringo nailed down another bingo, PODEStA! His wish has been granted, the first victory against the tiger!
(Final Board Position vs. jayaringo)

6. Tourney# 631 8P (losses to wwarner in round 2, 415-426); wwarner has won the tournament.
(8 Players Bracket Results, screenshot from my Android device)
In the pre-endgame, I held the rack of ?ADELOR with unseen AEIUUMNRSSTT (5 tiles in the bag). There were two openings, the AYU which required a S-hook and the N on the 15th column. Instead of playing PODAL (8th column) to leave one tile in the bag and hope for a last bingo move, I played ORDEALs/AYUs and drawn URANI from the bag. wwarner holding SESMUTT, played the best move OSES setting up MUTT/TI, that left tiger2002 to play out with URANIN. I also tried to play INIA to block the MUTT/TI out play, but LOGON was invalid word in Wordsmith.
(Final Board Position vs wwarner)

7. Tourney# 632 4P (losses to wwarner in Round 2, 554-586); wwarner has won the tournament.
(4 Players Bracket Results, screenshot from my Android device)
tiger2002: "bravo, right tiles at the right moment!" (Referring to his four timer bingo DiAZOLE-123 points.)
wwarner: "Thanks, DIAZOLE is my highest scoring word in Scrabble. I need the cushion against you."

In this game, wwarner had four bingos, PATRIOT, DiAZOLE, SYMBOLES and ETERNISE. I had SOLIdARY, DIURESIS and the last move ANEARED. I had also extended KINDLY to UNKINDLY. In the pre-endgame, I was holding AEEEMNR with unseen AEEIDNRST, I swapped ME and had drawn AD from the bag. Alas and behold, wwarner slapped down ETERNISE! That's two in arow win for him against tiger2002. A combined score of 1,140 has been recorded in this match!
(Final Board Position vs wwarner)

8. Tourney# 633 8P (losses to msjonesy in round 3 Finals, 485-487); msjonesy has won the tournament
(8 Players Bracket Results, screenshot from my Android device)
msjonesy: "Well, you cut my fist pumping and happy dance short with your play." (referring to my WARTLIKE- 108 points.)

msjonesy recovered in the pre-endgame when she played BISTROIC, emptying the bag and also drawn the blank! I only managed to trim down the lead by two points. No possible win for tiger2002 after exhaustive analysis.
(Final Board Position vs. msjonesy)

9. Tourney# 634 8P (losses to kinglee in round 1, 435-476); Still in progress mostly in round 2.
(16 Players Bracket Results, screenshot from BlueStacks App Player for Windows)
On the main chat board:
>tiger2002: "tasty games finished. 4 match up results: 3-1. this is the only game that kinglee won. all the games were decided in the endgame. wild silver away!" (Because during that time, we were really playing four matches at the same time and finished on the same day.)
>kinglee: "lol... 1-3 ain't bad... I was up in every GAME by the end and tiger2002 put the smack down on me except for this one."

In what has been another classic battle between us, kinglee prevailed this time! I will be featuring the four matches in a separate blog post. Stay tuned...
(Final Board Position vs. kinglee)

10. Tourney# 638 (losses to bev238 in round 2, 424-461); versevsverse waiting in the Finals
(16 Players Bracket Results, screenshot from BlueStacks App Player for Windows)
tiger2002: "bravo, u blocked my spot!" (referring to her TURTLED that blocked my would be high scoring move tROAKING.)
bev238: "you're the only person I play ever comments like this. more players take this game way too serious. thanks for being such a great sport!"

bev238 played three bingos, cAROUSE, STARDUST and TURTLED, while only SKIAtRON for me.
(Final Board Position vs. bev238)
11. Tourney # 640 8P (losses to billbz in round 2, 399-404); Still in progress mostly in round 2.
(16 Players Bracket Results, screenshot from BlueStacks App Player for Windows)
BillBZ: "very fast... good game!"

This game was quickly played in just less than 30 minutes. BillBZ had a scoring moves, MEnTORED and BEEPeR (4-timer). I had a late bingo, YULETIDE but his last rack was very powerful to pipped tiger2002 by 5 points.
(Final Board Position vs BillBZ)

More to come....
